“ROOTED: The Core of Christian Belief” (Class/Seminar)
September 16 @ 6:00 am - 7:00 pm

This course is structured as a clear, step-by-step introduction to the absolute fundamentals of the Christian faith. Because it assumes no prior exposure, the journey naturally unfolds from historical foundations to personal theology, and finally to community life.
Here is how the core questions of the course map out into a logical progression:
1. The Identity of Jesus
‘Who is Jesus?’
Before diving into theology or church traditions, the course starts with the historical and biblical figure at the center of the faith. You will explore his life, his claims, and why his identity is the anchor for everything else that follows.
2. The Mechanics of Salvation
‘How do I know I’m saved?’
Once Jesus’ identity is established, the course tackles the concept of “grace” and how a person enters into a relationship with God. This step strips away confusing jargon to explain the core Christian understanding of salvation, faith, and personal security.
3. The Purpose of Community
‘Why should I join a church?’
Faith isn’t designed to be practiced in total isolation. The final phase of the course looks at the practical, lived expression of these beliefs, defining what the “church” is and why communal practice matters so much to Christian tradition.
Whether you are analyzing these concepts from an academic standpoint, exploring your own curiosity, or looking to solidify your personal beliefs, you are starting on level ground.
“Rooted: The Core of Christian Belief” takes place 6-7pm on Wednesdays, from 9/8-12/2, right here at 277 Main Street in Hartford, CT!
