On Sunday, June 14th, South Church was host to Hartford HealthCare‘s “5th Annual Cuts for Kindness” event in Gray Hall!
HHC & the Neighborhood Health Clinic, along with over 35+ volunteers and vendors, served over 150+ attendees, giving out haircuts, beard trims, braids and more! Attendees also had the opportunity to bathe via the Power In A Shower truck, shaved ice from Kona Ice, services from Hartford Public Library, Hands On Hartford, Connecticut Foodshare and ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s!
HHC Support was able to provide so much to so many! The Cancer Center Easrly Detection and Prevention Team Mobile Mammography provided mammogram registrations, 25 full cholesterol and 3 blood pressure screenings from the Heart & Vascular Institute, and Neighborhood Health provided 35 blood sugar and 40 blood pressure screenings!
Serving your community, being there for your neighbors, caring for others…these are all staples of the Way that Jesus walked, and taught us to walk.
Many thanks to Hartford Healthcare, their team, their support and everyone involved in making this event a success!
Always remember, BE A BLESSING!
